Ever hear of Dumas, Texas? Yeah, me neither. It is a small town in the panhandle of Texas. That is where I found myself. Dumas...with it's huge population of 13,747.
This is me, Joe Shmoe. I was dropped off here by accident, I am sure of that. I was not meant for this small town. I know I should have been a larger city. I can recall being in a larger city once. I was there with my Goddess, Ruby. Then the next thing I know, I was plunged into darkness and when I could see again, I was in Dumas.
I spent many hours daydreaming about my Ruby. Her wonderful curly brown hair. Her sparkling brown eyes. Her laugh while she created me and my other brother. He was different from me, but that was ok. We were brothers, I wonder if he is somewhere around here also.
This is my lovely land that my house will be built on, so I am told by the new voice I hear. Right now it tells me to "find a girlfriend Joe, we need to catch up". Catch up? Catch up with what or who I ask. All I am told is to "catch up with the other Joes". Other Joes? I can't believe my Goddess Ruby would have shared me like that. So I agree to go off in search of a girlfriend.
I met this nice young lady, but she wasn't thinking of me. She must have had more important things on her mind. That voice told me "she is looking for her Cleve". Who is this Cleve and why isn't she interested in me?
I have enjoyed the Dumas mini-mall. I can come here for some exercise and refreshment. This town is so small though. The main items around town close so early in the evening, I thought they would be some sort of nightlife, but alas there is none yet. The locals go somewhere at night, but they have yet to tell me where.
After a week or so, I overheard discussion about a downtown area. It was there I met this nice young lady, her name is Keth. She was really nice, but alas she is not meant to be mine either.
Keth was making burnt hot dogs for this sim, Orin. Orin was nice enough to eat them, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I have noticed that Keth seems to show up when Orin does. It is almost like she stalks him or something.
Here are my potential friends. If my eyes don't deceive me, there is a lady who resembles my Ruby on the top row. Her name is Daisy, Daisy Hunicke. I think I shall ask her out on a date.
Daisy and I spent a few dates together at the bowling alley. While she looks like Ruby, she isn't her. After some questioning, I found she wasn't my Ruby. She does have a great laugh though, reminds me of Ruby.
Just a momento to go on my (future) walls in the house. I have not told Daisy of my land yet. I hope she doesn't mind the lack of a house. Times are tough and I had to start with $5,000.
When I am around Daisy, all she seems to do is stay by me. I think she is interested in my handsome self. I am starting to give up on my search for Ruby, but part of me wonders where she is and what she is doing.
Daisy and I are spending more time together. I think I have found someone who has grabbed my heart. She tends to get upset when I tell her how she reminds me of Ruby or when I even mention Ruby's name. Why is that?
Daisy seems to really have taken to me. She is always willing to go out and I think she hopes this is something more serious. I, on the other hand, still wonder if I can find my Goddess here or not.
Who would have thunk it? I mention to Daisy that we need another picture for my walls and well, one thing led to another and that nasty old lady was hitting me with her purse! The old prude!
Not wanting someone else to take Daisy, I asked her to marry me. I figure if I can't find Ruby, she is the next best thing. Daisy seems to think Ruby is out of my head now, but she isn't. I now must quietly search for her until I find her.
Times sure are tough living on the yard. Winter has arrived and my house is nowhere near done. Not even close. I found myself freezing and decided the spring wedding must be moved up. I need a warm body to share the nights with.

I really hope Joe doesn't freeze to death before he gets the house finished!
Ack! Joe don't freeze to death .. take a bath or or shower or or .. yes! get that body to keep your warm. she will do.
I love it Lynn, simply love it.
Gak man you can't spend your life with second best. Poor Daisy.
Joe, a relationship -- much less a marriage -- built upon the fact that the person you're dating/marrying reminds you another person is not a good way to go about things. You want Mrs Forever, not Mrs For The Moment (and certainly not Mrs Warm My Bed). Ah well. Daisy seems madly in love with you; let's hope marriage gets you feeling the same way.
*snickers at she and Angelia's appearances. waves to Gabriel* Is Lisa around? She wouldn't want to miss out on the Orrin stalking either. And I wonder if Angelia will find her Cleve. Is he out there anywhere?
*drools* I did notice the cameo of the Orrin-beast.
*chokes trying not to laugh too loudly at work* Talk about goddess worship! *giggles softly*
Joe is meeting lots of Legacy Ladies there. :-) SHHHH!! Don't say that loudly enough for Orrin to hear you! He'll agree that Keth's a stalker! *snickers*
Good luck with Daisy! I wonder if she'll be able to compare with the original.
Dude, don't give up on Ruby yet! You may find her around the next corner!! *grins wickedly*
Why? Because women don't like to think they're just a replacement for someone you really loved. :-b D'uh!
Hehehe, yeah, I usually check if that nasty old prude is around before my Sims get too far into their dates. If she is, off they go to somewhere else. *nods*
*blinks* What on earth is Joe wearing there! *giggles*
But boo for proposing to Daisy when you're still hoping to find Ruby. :-( And double-boo for moving up your wedding to Daisy just because you don't want to freeze to death. *pouts*
Well, hopefully Joe will either find Ruby before he actually gets married to Daisy or else he'll realize soon that he really does love Daisy.
But goodness, are you gonna give Ruby a swollen ego here! *snicker*
But don't worry about that too much, I've noticed that we're at different stages in Joe's life. I mean, DebC's Joe is already an elder while some are still trying to find the love of their life. ;-)
